PROFILE: Mountmellick has 'Faith' in science student's Laois Rose bid

Mountmellick science student Faith Westman is one of seventeen Laois Rose entrants this year.

The Rose hopeful has brains to burn, and is currently in her final year of a Bioscience with Biopharmaceuticals degree at SETU (South East Technological University).

"After college, I’ll be completing an internship there before taking some time to travel — something I’ve always loved," Faith told the Leinster Express/Laois Live.

"With my studies complete, I’m looking forward to focusing fully on my passion for science and building a career in the biopharmaceutical industry after travelling," the Mountmellick woman said.

Faith considers herself as quite an active person, and has been involved in local sports since the age of 16.

The Rose entrant believes that your health is your wealth.

"Maintaining a healthy, balanced lifestyle is something I’ve always valued," she said.

"Travel, sport, and science have all helped shape who I am today, and I’m excited for the next chapter," Faith finished.

The Laois Rose Selection Night takes place in the Midlands Park Hotel, Portlaoise on Friday, April 18, when 17 entrants will be interviewed on stage by Ollie Turner, cheered on by their supporters in the audience.

The winner will then be announced who will take part in the televised International Rose of Tralee in Kerry this August.

The Leinster Express / Laois Live is the proud Media Sponsor for the Laois Rose Selection.
