Lucky Laois GAA club lotto winner scoops €10,000 jackpot

One lucky Laois winner has scooped a €10,000 jackpot in a lotto in aid of their local GAA club and national school.

The Rock GAA and Rock National School, on the outskirts of Mountmellick, hold a combined weekly lotto jackpot.

It has been won for the first time in two years.

The lucky winner of the June 9 draw is Ann Dempsey from The Rock. The numbers drawn were 5, 10, 16, 19.

"Congratulations to our jackpot winner Ann Dempsey of €10,000. The lotto is back next week and tickets can be purchased as always online at https://tinyurl.com/RockLotto, best of luck," The Rock GAA club said.

Anthony Ging is chairperson.

"We are absolutely delighted for Ann. She is playing the lotto for many years, and it's nice that it's won locally too," he said.

There were also five €20 winners in the weekly draw: Kathleen Dunne, Dan Allen, Ashling McGuirk, Richard Jestin and Emily Deegan.

The lotto was last won in June 2023.

The jackpot now reverts to €1,000. Tickets are also sold by the club members and the school pupils. Adding RNS after the buyer's name ensures that €1 of the €2 ticket price goes to the Rock NS parents council.
