Water disruptions expected for Laois town this week
A Laois town will experience water disruptions this week due to essential maintenance works, Uisce Éireann has announced.
Areas of Mountmellick may be affected by the mains repairs, undertaken as part of the National Leakage Reduction Programme.
Mains repair works may cause supply disruptions to Sarsfield Street, Bridge Street, Mountmellick and surrounding areas in Co. Laois.
Works are scheduled to take place from 9am until 4pm on Thursday August 7.

"We recommend that you allow 3-4 hours after the estimated restoration time for your supply to fully return," Uisce Éireann have said.
Uisce Éireann have been replacing aged water mains in Mountmellick to provide a more reliable water supply, reducing high levels of leakage and improving water quality.
These works have taken place along R422, Parnell Street, between Pearse Street to Connolly Street.
involve laying new water service connections from the public water main in the road to customers’ property boundaries and connecting it to the customers’ water supply.
The works have been carried out on behalf of Uisce Éireann by Shareridge and are expected to be completed in August 2025.
