The Connolly family who are giving the proceeds of their charity Little Black Dress event to Mountmellick's flood appeal
In a heartwarming display of community support, a Mountmellick charity that has received huge support over the years to build a house for two sick brothers, is giving the proceeds of an upcoming event to flood victims.
The Ben & Jake Connolly Trust is now tantalisingly close to completing their wheelchair accessible house, but have diverted much needed funds to help their community.
The Little Black Dress Girls Night Out event is taking place in The Mellick Inn next Saturday, December 9. It promises a red carpet entrance, disco, spot prizes, finger food and goody bags, and last year raised thousands for the Ben & Jake Connolly Trust.
The trust announced today that this year's night is for Mountmellick Flood Community Support.
"The Connolly family, trustees & fundraising committee have long been aware of the kindness of this town.
In light of last week's flooding, we wish to announce that ALL PROCEEDS from our Little Black Dress Night will now be donated to Mountmellick Flood Community Support.
We believe that it is time to give back to a community who have shown us such generosity over the years. Thank you Mountmellick! #smalltownbigheart ❤️," the trust wrote.
Tickets for the popular night are available in Ó Hóráin's, in O'Gormans & World Of Sparkles, at €10.
