A night of style, fun and dancing is on the cards in Mountmellick this month, and all for a good local cause.

The lineup for the third annual Little Black Dress night has been revealed this week, and organisers the Ben & Jake Connolly Trust promise it to be the best yet.

On Saturday, November 24, lucky ticket holders will be greeted at Turley's Pub with a red carpet entrance and a glass of prosecco.

They will enjoy style tips from professional stylist Jill Blanc McDermott from Kildare Village, and there is a door prize from Kristine from World of Sparkles boutique in Mountmellick.

A lively disco with Jim Jam, spot prizes and complimentary nibbles will ensure a long night of fun and entertainment.

The Ben & Jake Connolly Trust is raising money to complete a house for severely disabled Ben Connolly, and in the future for other children faced with similar issues. The house is built and awaiting donations to pay for final internal fit-outs.

Last year the organisers donated all the proceeds to Mountmellick's flood relief fund, but this year it all goes to the house, in hopes that Ben can move in spring.

Janet Stewart is a committee member.

“We hope everyone will support this great night, maybe make it their Christmas night out. It is a great chance to get glammed up for a great cause,” she said.

Limited tickets have gone on sale, at €10, in O Horáins shop, World of Sparkles, and Turley's Pub. Hera Hair Studio is also giving a special deal to ticketholders.
