The curtain has come down on what Mountmellick Utd FC describe as being the ‘absolutely fantastic’ Mountmellick Goes to Hollywood gala fundraiser for facilities event at the Midlands Park Hotel.
A great crowd descended on the Portlaoise hotel on Saturday, October 17, where The Field swept the boards, taking home the coveted Best Film Award with Sean Connolly crowned Best Actor.
“A massive congratulations to all our winners, nominees and every single person who stepped in front of the camera and helped create something truly special,” said the club.
“The talent, the laughter, the excitement and, above all, the incredible community spirit made this a night to remember. From the first scene to the final award, Mountmellick delivered Hollywood magic in bucketloads,” said the club on Facebook.
Produced by Clubfundraiser, the Mountmellick Goes To Hollywood event has raised more than €100,000 for the upgrade of the Laois soccer club’s facilities.
