Trial of man accused of murdering Ashling Murphy set to begin today

THE TRIAL of a 32-year-old man accused of murdering Ashling Murphy last year is set to begin today.

Jozef Puska of Lynally Grove in Tullamore, Co Offaly, is due to go on trial today in the Central Criminal Court.

23-year-old Ashling Murphy was jogging beside the Grand Canal in Tullamore last January, when she was fatally assaulted.

Ashling had been working as a primary school teacher and had recently graduated from Mary Immaculate College in Limerick.
