All services from Heuston Station in Dublin have suspended until further notice due to a tragic incident at Sallins earlier on Friday, Irish Rail has confirmed.
The most recent update on social media said that emergency services are on-site
The line will remain closed in both directions until further notice, Irish Rail confirmed.
The company said further updates will follow.
The tragic incident will cause significant disruption to Friday evening commuter traffic in and out of the city.
Heuston to Cork services will terminate at Kildare Station and the 1.25pm Portlaoise to Heuston service is stopped at Portarlington.
