ALERT: River Island recalls children's winter clothing sold in Ireland due to choking risk

Children's winter clothing sold by a popular fashion brand has been recalled due to a major safety concern. 

According to the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC), River Island is carrying out a recall of their Baby Girls Pink Peplum Quilted Snowsuit due to a risk of choking. 

The silver poppers on the snowsuit may become loose and detach, causing small parts. If a child puts the small part in their mouth, it can block airways and cause choking. 

The product number (which can be found printed on the care label inside the garment) is 458873, and the barcode is 5063154342438. 

There are approximately 10 affected products in the Republic of Ireland. 

The product was sold by River Island from August 2023 to October 2023, and was also made available to consumers in the Republic of Ireland by retailers Next and Very Ireland. 

If you believe that you may have purchased an affected product, discontinue use immediately and keep it out of the reach of children.
