'Stop using them' - Children's socks sold at Dealz recalled over fears of cuts
Popular children's socks sold in Dealz stores in Ireland have been recalled over fears they may result in lacerations.
Poundland UK, trading as Dealz, is carrying out the recall of the Pep & Co BU Terry Minnie Mouse socks.
According to an alert on the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, "the risk presented by the product is injuries."
"The inside toe area of the sock is made with an uncut loop which can lead to tightness in the toe area for children resulting in ischemia or lacerations," the recall notice added.
The brand is Pep & Co. The type/numbers of model are 830918 (age 0 to 6 months), 830919 (age 6 to 12 months), 830920 (age 12 to 18 months) and 830921 (age 18 to 24 months). The barcodes are 5045736201708, 5045736201715, 5045736201722 and 5045736201739. The batch number is unknown.
There are approximately 289 affected products in the Republic of Ireland.
What to do if you bought the socks?
Customers should stop using the product immediately, keep it out of the reach of children and return it to any Dealz store for a full refund, no receipt is required.
