Met Éireann has issued a warning for low temperatures with driving conditions to be very hazardous all week in Ireland

NCT testers in update to drivers amid Ireland's cold weather blast

NCT Ireland has issued an update to drivers in Ireland amid the current cold snap that will see temperatures dip as low as -5 degrees in parts this week.

Driving conditions will be hazardous all week with Met Éireann issuing a Status Yellow low temperature warning for Monday and Tuesday and a similar cold weather advisory until Friday night.

NCT Ireland posted a number of tips to drivers to stay safe on the roads.

They were:

A sparkling clear view: Ensure your windscreen & mirrors are clean and free from obstructions

Keep it Fluid: Double-check to make sure your washers have enough fluid and the wipers are working

Oil's well that ends well: Keep an eye on your oil and water levels. Regular checks equals a well-functioning car!

Pump it Up: Make sure your tyres are properly inflated for optimal traction

Drivers are being warned of ice on all roads this week and to never drive their car without the windscreen and all mirrors properly cleared of snow and ice.
