Gardai are continuing their investigation after a man died following a collision in Co Mayo.
A collision involving a car and two pedestrians occurred on Lord Edward Street in Ballina, on Tuesday, February 20.
A male pedestrian, aged 33 years, died this evening in Mayo University Hospital after sustaining serious injuries.
According to the gardai, the local coroner has been informed and arrangements are being made for a post-mortem examination. Additionally, a female child who was also injured has been discharged from hospital.
"Following the completion of examinations by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, the road, previously closed, has been reopened to traffic," said a spokesperson for the gardai.
Gardaí have renewed their appeal for witnesses to the collision to come forward. They have urged those with camera footage (including dash-cam) from the area at the time to provide it to Gardaí.
