Man arrested in Donegal for failing drug test in van not taxed for 1,110 days

Gardaí warned motorists never to drive while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol

A man was arrested after failing a drug test and had his van seized, as it had not been taxed in three years.

The driver tested positive for cocaine. His van had no valid NCT.

Gardaí from Letterkenny Roads Policing Unit made the arrest this Wednesday.

"With the help of the Active Mobility App, Gardaí from Letterkenny Roads Policing Unit detected a van on Wednesday that had not been taxed in 1,100 days and it hadn't been tested," Donegal gardaí posted.

"The van was seized. The van driver was arrested after they tested positive for cocaine. Never drive while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. Ensure that your documents are up to date/in order before taking to the roads," they added.
