Funeral details announced for GAA coach killed in Louth hit-and-run

The funeral details for Niall McEneaney, who was tragically killed in a hit-and-run in Drogheda, have been announced.

Mr McEneaney, aged 42, was pronounced dead at the scene after being struck by a vehicle in Drogheda, at about 2.30am on Sunday.

Mr McEneaney was returning home after socialising with friends when he was struck, near his home by Rathmullen Road in Drogheda.

He will be reposing at his parents’ home, Mason Lodge from 4pm until 7pm this Thursday and Friday.

The funeral mass will take place on Saturday morning, at 11.30am in Our Lady of Lourdes Church.

Burial afterwards in Newtown Cross Lawn Cemetery.

Niall 'Trigger' McEneaney was from The Highlands, Drogheda, Co Louth.

Beloved husband to Grace. Very sadly missed by his heartbroken wife, Dad Ollie and Mam Marian, brothers Alan, David, Brian and Owen, father in law Bob, sisters in law Judith, Emily, Roberta, Amber and Aria, brothers in law Danny and Bryen, aunts, uncles, nephews Liam, Nathan, Alexander and Sam, nieces Róisín, Kate and Maria, cousins, extended family, his beloved dogs Bill, Rookie and Murray, a very large circle of great friends and his Hurling Community.

A well known GAA coach, Mr McEneaney was struck by a vehicle, which was registered to an off-duty garda based in the northwest region.

Investigations are still ongoing.
