Tributes have poured in for Galway dad-of-three who lost his life in a tragic workplace accident.

Pat (Patrick) Lardner died at the scene of an accident at a commercial business in Tuam on Friday, April 5. His body was taken to University Hospital Galway for a post-mortem.

Pat was of Kincullia, Loughrea and formerly of Cashla, Athenry, in Co Galway.

Pat will be very sadly missed by his best friend and loving wife Éilish and by his much-adored children Dylan, Megan and Michelle, by Dylan’s partner Rebecca and Megan’s partner Conor.

Pat will also be deeply regretted by his brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces, father-in-law, relatives, extended family, neighbours and his wide circle of friends.

Since the tragic news broke out, heartfelt tributes have poured in for Pat, who has been described as a "wonderful man", who was always in "good form".

"My deepest condolences to all the Lardner family on the untimely passing of your beloved Pat. What a wonderful man, whom I had the pleasure of dealing with over the years. May he rest in peace," wrote someone in tribute.

"Deepest sympathies to Éilish, Dylan, Megan, Michelle and all of the Lardner family on the sad passing of Pat. From a young age I remember you always coming back to the shed, always is good form and always took the time to explain everything to help me learn what was going on in the workshop nothing was ever a problem, so many good memories and sayings over the years. Rest in peace Pat," paid someone in tribute.

His funeral will take place on Wednesday, April 10. His funeral cortege will arrive to St Brendan’s Cathedral, Loughrea for Requiem Mass at 12.30 pm followed by burial immediately afterwards in Bullaun New Cemetery.
