Miami-bound flight diverted to Dublin Airport due to 'medical emergency'

A Norse flight from London to Miami was forced to divert and land in Dublin Airport due to a 'medical emergency' on-board.

The flight (Z0724/ UBT72C), which left from London Gatwick this afternoon, made the emergency landing in Ireland at around 2pm due to an undisclosed health crisis aboard the relatively large Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

The flight had flown past Ireland, and was forced to turn back due to the emergency.

Rescue vehicles were made available at Dublin Airport due to a heavy landing being expected.

The medical emergency on-board is not yet known, but medical teams were apparently able to deal with the unwell passenger after the Dublin landing at around 2:20pm.

The aircraft landed safely according to Norse Atlantic Airways, and at 4:37pm the air travel company confirmed that the flight had "departed and is continuing its journey to its final destination".
