Gardaí have warned those traveling to the All-Ireland hurling final to give themselves plenty of time due to anticipated large volumes of traffic.
Traffic on the M7 and N7 motorways is expected to be particularly heavy.
And to add to the tailbacks, a number of animals on motorways were reported to be causing difficulties for motorists hours before the big game.
Earlier on Sunday, Transport Infrastructure Ireland said it has received reports of animals on the M11/N11 J15 - Ashford (northbound) just before noon.
An incident was also cleared involving a deceased animal on the M7 between J04 - Rathcoole and J05 - Athgoe (Westbound) which affected the central median lane 3 earlier today.
All roads lead to @CrokePark today for the hurling showdown between @GaaClare and @OfficialCorkGAA.
