New unmarked garda cars have been deployed nationally and can automatically recognise number plates

An Garda Síochána have revealed new unmarked policing cars which have been out on Irish roads as of the last November weekend.
In an announcement on social media, gardaí stated that each vehicle features "all the latest technology" including an automatic number plate recognition system which will further enable them to detect road traffic offences and "help keep people safe".
The announcement also featured a video of the new vehicles, showing their make and model and included clips of the cars being driven.

The five cars featured in the video are said to have been distributed throughout the country as part of the new upgrade to improve traffic policing.
