Investigations are underway after a man was killed in a single-vehicle road crash in Dublin on Thursday night - the first fatality on Irish roads in 2025.
Gardaí and emergency services say they attended the scene of the fatal incident at East Wall Road in Dublin 1 shortly before midnight.
"The single-vehicle collision occurred when a jeep collided with an electricity pole at approximately 11:55pm.
"The driver and sole occupant of the jeep, a male in his 60s, was transferred to the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
No other injuries were reported," confirmed a garda spokesperson.

Motorists are being advised East Wall Road in Dublin is currently closed between the North Strand Road and Alfie Byrne Road to facilitate a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
They are also appealing for any road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, and who were travelling in the area at the time of the collision to make this footage available to gardaí.
