ESB enforces 'vital warning' around public safety following nine days without power

63,000 homes in Ireland remain with no power

ESB has issued a new update as 63,000 homes in Ireland remain without power due to power outages from Storm Éowyn.

ESB Networks said that 705,000 homes, farms and businesses have had their power restored so far.

"We will still have many faults on the electricity network," ESB warned, "And have been made aware of several instances of potentially very dangerous incidents where members of the public have unknowingly approached fallen electricity infrastructure."

"Fallen debris can prevent people from seeing hidden risks such as wires entangled into trees and branches," ESB said.

"Never, ever touch or approach these as they are LIVE and extremely dangerous. Please report any damage to electricty infrastructure by calling 1800 372 999."

"Some customers may see their estimated restoration times change over the coming days," ESB said as restoration work continues.
