The DMR Roads policing unit caught a driver speeding on the M50 motorway while under the influence of alcohol.
The driving was travelling at speeds of 166km'h in a 100km/h zone.
The driver failed a roadside breath test and "blew over the legal limit at the station," according to An Garda Síochána.
Gardaí said court proceedings are underway.
