'Utterly devastated' - Heartbreaking tributes at death of boy and honorary garda
Tributes has been pouring in after the untimely death of Brandon Murphy, a boy who touched the hearts of many and became an honorary Garda thanks to the Little Blue Heroes initiative.
The family of the 15-year-old paid a beautiful tribute to Brandon, who say he "fell asleep peacefully on Thursday, held in the loving arms of his heartbroken family."
Dublin teen Brandon was the beloved son of Kirsty, Paddy, Laura and Paddy and a treasured brother to Mia, Sofia, and Bailey.
"He was a bright, gentle soul whose presence brought joy, laughter, and light to everyone lucky enough to know him," his RIP.ie notice reads.
His family added: "Brandon's kind heart and radiant smile left a lasting mark on all whose lives he touched.
"He leaves behind a family utterly devastated by his loss — his loving parents, his devoted sisters,— all of whom loved him more than words could ever express. Brandon was also deeply cherished by his collective grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family, and held dearly by his neighbours and many friends.
"Though his life was far too short, Brandon’s spirit was mighty. He touched countless hearts with his warmth, his humour, and his unshakable love for those around him. His absence leaves a silence that echoes loudly in the lives of those who loved him — a young life gone far too soon, but never, ever forgotten.

An Garda Síochana also paid a heartfelt tribute to their Little Blue Hero. A statement read: "It is with the heaviest of hearts with An Garda Siochana Ballymun that we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of adored Honorary Garda Brandon Murphy.
"His warmth, kindness, and amazing smile touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
"Brandon and his sister Mia, along with their family, led the Easter Bunny Drive, an incredible initiative that collected hundreds of Easter eggs each year for Little Blue Heroes across the country. Their kindness went even further, using funds raised to purchase toys and art supplies for those who couldn’t enjoy chocolate eggs.
"Brandon's generosity, compassion, and determination to bring happiness to others is a true testament to the wonderful young man he is and will always be.
"Brandon’s time with us was far too short, but his impact was immeasurable. He fought his battles with unwavering courage, always facing the world with a bright smile and an even brighter heart. His absence leaves a void that words cannot fill, but his legacy of love, laughter, and strength will live on in all of us. Ar dheis Dé go raibh anam."
Gardaí also posted a beautiful poem to remember Brandon:
"Little Blue Hero, laid to rest,
You fought so hard and gave your best.
Little Blue Hero, brave and true,
With honour and courage, you saw it through.
Little Blue Hero, your smile so bright,
Now walks a beat in heaven’s light.
Little Blue Hero, we’ll never forget,
The moments we shared from the day we met.
Little Blue Hero, under your care,
Watch over us—your light we’ll share."
