'Love this lady!'- Irish tv presenter leaves The Tonight Show to start new podcast

Ciara Doherty has been announced as the host of a new podcast with Newstalk after her previous departure from Virgin Media's The Tonight Show.

The tv presenter will be in front of the mic on Newstalk Daily, which will focus on a story that has captured the public’s imagination and has everyone talking.

Before her exit from Virgin Media last November, where she left her role as presenter of the Tonight Show, Ciara worked for the station for 14 years and previously on Ireland AM.

“Are you on the hunt for a podcast that takes a deeper dive into the stories you care about?” Ciara said. “I'm delighted to join Newstalk and announce the launch of our new podcast Newstalk Daily, Each weekday, we feature one story that has the country talking. We'll be bringing you richer insights, wider analysis and compelling voices.”

The new podcast launches on Monday, June 23, and will be available from the usual podcast apps.

The news has already received positive feedback on social media with one person who said: "I can’t wait! Love this lady! She’s incredible."
