Priscilla Presley was the star guest on The Late Late Show Country special this weekend, sitting down with Patrick Kielty for a candid conversation about love, fame, and life after Elvis.

She described Elvis as “a country boy at heart” who had to learn how to handle global superstardom. Meeting him at just fourteen while living in Germany, Priscilla admitted the beginnings of their relationship, not helped by there ten year age gap , were closely watched by her parents.

“He didn’t know anyone there , we just built a connection. Love was in the air.”

Life at Graceland, however, came with challenges. “There were girls everywhere… it was like the movie Girls, Girls, Girls,” she laughed, before admitting the pressures left her struggling to find her own identity.

Dance classes became her escape, giving her a life outside the king’s inner circle.

Priscilla recalled to Kielty that “Even after our divorce in 1973 the bond never faded. I loved him as much the day I left as I did when I first met him. But I had to find myself.”

She remained close to Elvis until his death, recalling her worry as his health declined and his reliance on prescription pills grew.

The interview also turned to her daughter Lisa Marie Presley, whose sudden death in 2023 remains a huge source of pain.

Priscilla shared memories of their final night out at the Golden Globes and admitted she sensed something wasn’t right. “Little did I know that would be the last time I’d see her,” she said softly.

Still, Presley spoke of the joy she finds in her day to day life. “I feel in charge of myself now, that gives me strength.”
