Kathleen revealed how she managed to escape from the houses of horrors
Dublin Woman Kathleen Richards shared her horrific experience living with two of Britain's most notorious serial killers, Fred and Rosemary West on Friday night's Late Late Show.
She reflected on finding out the full account of the heinous crimes they committed years later and how she is telling her story as a way to help others who have gone through similar trauma.
The couple abused, raped and murdered at least twelve women between the years of 1967 and 1987 including their own children, Kathleen details how she managed to escape and survive the house of horrors.
She told host Patrick Kielty of her personal experience with Fred West explaining: "At first it was ok but as time went on, he started touching me and groping me and things like that".
West hid around the house in an attempt to ambush her while she was on her own as Kathleen remarked: "he would just come out of nowhere".

Kathleen also spoke about her interactions with another young girl named Shirley in the house stating: "She said she was pregnant with Fred West's baby, there was one time that he groped me in the hallway, he was trying to touch me in every way holding me at the wall before telling Fred to leave her and he walked off".
She continued: "Shirley told me to ignore him and that he was just being silly but you just kind of accepted it, things were different in those times as well".
Shirley disappeared some time after this interaction with Fred saying that she had moved back to Germany only for her body and her unborn child to be found buried in the back garden years later.
Kathleen recounted living in the house following her own torrid upbringing where she was abused by a factory worker and a family member.

She said "I thought that's how it is, I felt ashamed, I didn't feel great or have any self-esteem, I blame myself, it was my fault, it's only now I think why me but at the time its just embarrassment and shame"
Speaking on her escape from the house and subsequently finding out about the horrific crimes the couple committed, Kathleen added: "I just kept running, I got out in time but I felt so guilty because I could have helped to save those girls, it took me a long time to get over it".
Viewers expressed their sorrow at the harrowing experience Kathleen endured online with one X user writing "Kathleen Richards had a lucky escape".
"This is just absolutely heartbreaking" wrote another person on Instagram.
A final comment left on Facebook said: "Thank you for sharing your story and inspiring others in a similar situation to seek help".
The Late Late Show posted a picture of Patrick and Kathleen on Facebook accompanied with the caption "thank you so much to the incredibly brave Kathleen Richards for joining us tonight to share her story of survival".
