A children’s Halloween costume sold on a popular clothing website has been recalled due to fears of strangulation and burns.
In a notice on March 12, Ireland’s Competition and Consumer Protection Commission confirmed that SHEIN is carrying out a recall of the Wizard Cape. This was sold on the site by third-party seller Yiwu Mengqi E-Commerce Firm.
The product contains chords which are too close to a child’s neck when worn, creating a risk of strangulation and injury. As well as this, the cape is also highly flammable and could catch fire when too close to a flame, causing burns.
