'Stop use immediately' - SHEIN issues urgent recall in Ireland amid electric shock fears

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) has alerted the public across Ireland to and urgent recall issued by online retail giant SHEIN amid serious electrocution fears.

SHEIN is carrying out a recall of a 2-in-1 Professional Straightening and Curling Iron sold on SHEIN marketplace by the third-party seller Shenzhen Deqianyi Trading Co. Ltd.

The product presents a risk of electric shock. Due to a design defect, some internal electrical wires are not sufficiently protected or fixed and the product has insufficient insulation. This may lead to a risk of electric shock.

The type/number of model is RD-216. The product reference number is sb2410101971770350. The batch number and barcode are Unknown.

There are approximately 51 affected products in the Republic of Ireland.
