Friends Together launch in Portarlington

There was a great turnout in the Portarlington Community Centre for the launch last week Friends Together Portarlington.

Cllr Aidan Mullins officially cut the ribbon on the new service at the launch on Tuesday March 1.

The service, which is spearheaded by Celine Knigh, will be officially open this Tuesday March 8 from 2-6pm and the following Friday 2-5pm.

All involved hope to see you all there.

The organisers have We've been getting great feedback from the community so far and they hope that this will be only the beginning of a valuable new service for the town.

People can come and chat, play cards, board games etc. You can stay for ten minutess or as long as you want. It is hoped to provide transport to those who don’t have it.

The service is supported by Portarlington Credit Union, Lions Club and GROW Mental Health Support.
