Sleep out for Simon vital to help Laois homeless people

All across the midlands on Friday, October 21, hundreds of volunteers will sleep out for the Simon Community experiencing the problems by those who do so regularly.

Laois is no exception with a big sleep out organised at Laois GAA's HQ O'Moore Park.

Appealing to local poeple to join the fundraising effort, the Simon Community says Laois is no exception in regard to homelessness with 40-50 people being helped by Simon around the county.

Midlands assists those who are marginalised in society. Professisonal help is gven to those with specfic needs caused by addiction, domestic violence or economic circumstances.

Naturally the services need ongoing funding so fundraising is vital.

Many groups and organisations have come on board to support the Sleep Out but many others are invited to get involved.

A very important element of the Sleep Out is that all funds raised will be spent in Laois.
