Portlaoise Hospital Action Committee brings campaign to four corners of Laois.

The Midland Regional Hospital Portlaoise Hospital Action Committee is set to bring its campaign to halt the hospital's downgrade to the four corners of Laois.

Following a big public meeting in Portlaoise a new committee was formed. Now its members are urging the people around Laois get informed to show their support. Meetings have been called for Portarlington, Mountmellick, Abbeyleix, Mountrath and Graiguecullen/Killeshin.

People living in those towns and surrounding areas are invited to come along and find out what is planed and how they can help stop health authorities from removing A&E, maternity, paediatrics and other services from the Laois hospital.

Patient services will transfer mainly to Dublin and Tullamore under the plan.
