Castletown ICA to launch book to commemorate its 100th anniversary

As part of their 100th anniversary celebration Castletown ICA are launching a book to commemorate this great occasion and it is called “Céad Bliain Ag Fás.”

The book will be launched in Mountrath Golf Club on Friday the 8th December at 7pm.

Castletown ICA was founded by Lucy Franks who lived at Westfield House, Castletown.

She later went on to be National President of the ICA from 1942 to 1952.

She remained a life long member and friend of Castletown ICA Guild.

Castletown ICA has been an integral part of the parish for the past 100 years and have closely involved with local community groups for e.g. GAA, Camogie, Tidy Towns, Community Centre, SVP and all local organisations.

This book pays tribute to all past and present members of the ICA and the local community groups and we hope it will be enjoyed by all.

The contents are taken from the minutes of meetings and the memories of present members.

Castletown ICA invite all parishioners and friends to what we hope will be an enjoyable occasion.
