Breaking: Gardai investigating tragic death of Laois man in Cork

Gardai are currently looking at all lines of investigation in the tragic death of a Laois man at the weekend. 

Gardai in Cork attended the incident at Kennedy Quay, Cork along the River Lee in the city centre.

The incident occurred on the Sunday, January 21. The man's body was recovered from the water by Mallow search and rescue at approximately 10am on Sunday morning.

The man was in his 30's and a missing persons search was carried out. It is understood he was on a night out with friends and gardai are looking at CCTV.

Cork City Fire Brigade, Sovereign Dive Club, Crosahaven Coast Guard, gardai and the Irish Search Dogs assisted in the search and recovery of the man's body.
