Almost 200 homes without power in Portlaoise

ESB Networks map shows live updates of power outages.

A power outage in Portlaoise has left almost 200 homes in the town without electricity this morning.

A fault in the line has caused the outage according to ESB Networks.

The power was cut off due to a fault just before 9:00am on Friday morning.

It is due to be fixed and restored by lunchtime on Friday.

Elsewhere, almost 50 people around the Ballyragget area are without power today due to a planned repair on the line and over 100 have been cut off for a planned repair in Graigue Co. Carlow.

Further planned outages in Kildare have left almost 50 homes without power today.

ESB Networks apologised for the fault in Portaloise.

"We apologise for the loss of supply. We are currently working to repair a fault affecting your premises and will restore power as quickly as possible."
