Borris-Kilcotton are All-Ireland Scór na nÓg champions

It was all celebrations at the Green Roads over the weekend after the Borris-Kilcotton Scor group were crowned All-Ireland champions at the All Ireland Scór na nÓg finals in Sligo.

The five piece group of David Scott, Conall Ó Cnáimhín, Maeve Scott, Peter Bennett and Ellen Scott saw off the best in the country at the Knockarea Arena in Sligo.

They were welcomed back to the Green Roads pub on Sunday night, where a great night of craic agus ceol was had by the group and their supporters.

At the Laois Scór na nÓg competitions in November 2017, the Borris-Kilcotton quintet defeated four other competing clubs in the Ceol Uirlise (Instrumental Music) category and went on to compete at the Leinster Scór semi-finals in Birr.

Following their success there, they competed at the Leinster Scór na nÓg final which held in The National Opera House, Wexford on Sunday January 14th. At this prestigious venue, the quintet competed with three other talented Leinster groups for the chance to reach the Scór na nÓg All Ireland Finals in Sligo in February. Under the guidance of their friend and mentor, Siobhán Buckley the group maintained their focus and determination and were successful on the day.
