SNOW WEEK: Laois school announces three day closure due to STATUS RED #BeastFromTheEast

A Laois school is closed for the rest of the week due to the weather conditions in Laois.

Up to 10 inches of snow has accumulated in Laois overnight according to a Council official.

St. Mary's CBS in Portlaoise has announced it will remain closed for the next three days.

"Due to a red weather alert being issued today school will remain closed today, Wednesday.

"It will also remain closed for Thursday and Friday of this week. We will keep you updated via the app and website thoughout the coming days. Keep safe," is written on the school website.

Social Chriost Ri secondary school is also closed today. Portlaoise College is also closed.
