Reports of Laois businesses burgled during height of Storm Emma

There are local reports that a Laois business was burgled during the height of Storm Emma on Friday.

A shop in Abbeyleix called Vapourpal that sells e-cigarettes or vape equipment was reportedly broken into around 6:00am on Friday morning and stock was stolen.

It has not yet been confirmed by gardai but local reports suggest there has been a loss of up to €7,500.

It is understood that gardai are looking at CCTV from the time of the break in.

A young businesswoman opened the shop in the town last December.

A hair salon in Abbeyleix was also the victim of a break in and theft over a week ago.
