Laois priest to develop and refurbish house beside Parish Centre

Portlaoise's Parish Priest is to apply for planning permission to develop a house in the town's church.

Monsignor John Byrne PP will apply to Laois County Council for permission to develop an existing house at the Dublin Road, Portlaoise.

The development consists of refurbishment works to an existing house to include extensions to the front and side, reconfiguration of external windows and doors and placing external insulation on the perimeter of the house.

Internally, permission will be sought to reconfigure rooms and develop a rear covered carport and walkway connected to an existing garage and an external stairs access with associated rear garden gate to the adjacent Parish Centre and all ancillary site works.

The planning notice was published in this week’s Leinster Express newspaper.

The application may be inspected or purchased at the Laois County Council offices, Portlaoise during opening hours.

A submission or observation in relation to the application may be made in writing to on payment of a fee, within five weeks beginning on the date of receipt by the authority of the application and submissions or objections will be considered by the Planning Authority.

The Planning Authority may grant permission subject to or without conditions, or may refuse to grant permission.
