Boil Water Notice lifted from some homes in Laois town but not others

A Boil Water Notice affecting 30 houses on the Lough Public Water Supply in Portarlington has been lifted.

On the advice of the HSE, Irish Water and Laois County Council customers have been notified that the Boil Water Notice has now been lifted with immediate effect.

A spokesperson for Irish Water said the water can now be used without boiling.

"The water supply is compliant with drinking water regulations and normal use of the supply can resume for drinking, food preparation and brushing teeth," the spokesperson said. 

This notice was first issued on June 1 and stayed in place until Monday, June 25. 

A Boil Water Notice affecting 20 houses on the Portarlington 2 supply remains in place. This notice has also been in place since June 1.
