Plans for new €30 million nursing home in Laois

Plans for a brand new €30 million nursing home and care centre in Laois have been given the go ahead.

According to a national construction information services (CIS) an estimated €30 million will be invested into the nursing facility in Tierhogar, Killenard.

The planning permission applicant is Mark Fox while Kilgallen and Partners is the Portlaoise based architect.

It is understood that tenders are expected to be issued to building contractors in the coming months for the construction of the nursing care centre.

The An Bord Pleanála has granted planning permission with plans outline that the facility will feature 116 beds, 40 assisted living units, 65 sheltered homes, 1 wardens gate lodge, ancillary support facilities comprising - medical consulting rooms, dispensary, gym/pool, bistro/restaurant, community meeting room, bored well surface water attenuation system, plant room and services, entrance and all associated site works.
