A GAA clubhouse in Laois was vandalised over the Electric Picnic weekend.

The Heath GAA's clubhouse was targeted, windows were smashed and lights were pulled off the ceilings.

Doors were broken open inside and it appeared that nothing was taken.

Gardai are investigating the incident. Anyone with information should contact Portlaoise Garda Station 057 86 74100.

The club shared pictures of the damage on Facebook.

"Like all clubs The Heath Gaa club is used and run by locals who volunteer their time. It is used by all the community. Young and old. Now those same people have to work harder, and fund raise more money to pay for this.

"Any help on the matter would be appreciated. If you have kids who were in the area over the weekend please ask them do they know anything about it. Or if you saw anything suspicious while passing the club please PM us here or contact the Gardai."
