Man due in Portlaoise court over knifepoint robbery in Laois

A man is due to appear in Portlaoise District Court on Thursday (today) charged in connection with a knifepoint robbery in Portlaoise last weekend.

Two young people were robbed and a knife was produced during the incident on Saturday evening, November 3. A mobile phone and cash were stolen.

The victims are male and female aged 17 years. The culprits, both males, are described as being aged in their 50s and 20s.

The incident happened at approximately 6.30pm on Saturday evening at Millbrook, Portlaoise which is close to Main Street and Ridge Road.

Gardai are still appealing for the public’s help with regards to the second male involved and any person with information should contact Portlaoise Garda Station 058 86 74100.
