Cyclist hurt in Laois in hit and run

James Fintan Lalor Avenue in Portlaoise

A cyclist has been injured in Laois in a hit and run involving a car.

The collision took place on Monday December 3 at 1pm, on James Fintan Lalor Avenue in Portlaoise.

The cyclist was a man in his 50's.  He suffered minor injuries to his right side. His bike was also damaged.

The driver of a dark coloured saloon involved failed to stop after the collision.

Portlaoise Gardaí are asking for anybody who witnessed the collision to contact them.

They are also hoping for 'dashcam' footage of the collision.
