A delighted Applegreen, Petrogas manager, Carol Cuddy, today told of  how news of the win has gripped the Laois town.

“Since we got the news about the big win last night, the town has absolutely gone mad with the excitement, it’s brilliant! I think the whole town has already been through the doors of the shop this morning checking their tickets, there’s a great buzz in the community so we’ll enjoy the celebrations! We do get a lot of passing traffic but we are very hopeful that the winner is a local,” she said.

The winning numbers were 11, 16, 18, 28 and 35.

There was no winner of Tuesday’s €77 million EuroMillions jackpot which now rolls to €85 million (estimated) for Friday’s draw.

The numbers for that draw were 4, 7, 13, 23 and 42 and the Lucky Stars were 1 and 3.

Five people also matched five numbers and one star, meaning they pick up a prize of €180,283 each.
