Pupils at a primary school in Laois have generously donated some of their Confirmation money to Down Syndrome Ireland Laois Branch on World Down Syndrome Day.

The thoughtful fifth and sixth class pupils in Our Lady Meadows Primary School in Durrow presented Chairperson Margaret Miron and PRO Michael Gorman from the Down Syndrome Ireland Laois Branch with a cheque for €1,000 on Thursday.

Down Syndrome Ireland Laois Branch shared this amazing gesture by the pupils on their Facebook page.

"And to really cap a wonderful morning off we visited our own Dylan Grady's Our Lady Meadows Primary School in Durrow.

"To say we were blown away would be an understatement. That Dylan Grady's classmates would do such a wonderful thing in support of Dylan is absolutely amazing. Our Lady Meadows Primary School supported us previously when Stephen Bergin was a pupil there. What a wonderful school community they have in Durrow," they said.
