Laois homeless numbers have risen again

The number of Laois people who are homeless has risen again for the second month in a row.

Latest figures from Laois County Council show that 19 adults and 20 children were staying in emergency accommodation like hostels and B&Bs by the end of February. Another three adults and nine children were staying in transition accommodation.

There were 29 homeless presentations to County Hall, with five of those considered emergency homess.

A month earlier there were 16 adults and 19 children in emergency accommodation, up from the December figure when 13 adults and 11 children were counted.
