A protest planned by Community Employment (CE) scheme supervisors outside the office of Laois TD and Minister Charlie Flanagan has been suspended to allow for talks.

The protest was due to be part of five days of strike action scheduled to commence on Monday, May 13.

The CE supervisors are represented by Fórsa and SIPTU trade unions. They say The decision to suspend the industrial action follows an agreement with the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection (DEASP) to enter into a talks process aimed at resolving a long-running pension dispute.
