Hopes report on disabilities in Laois can influence new county council plan

It is hoped that Laois County Council will adopt the recommendations of a new report on access for people with disabilities to be launched by the Laois Public Participation Network (PPN).

The network says the Laois Access for All Disability report is as a result of a comprehensive workshop it hosted with the Disability Federation of Ireland.

The network says the aim of the consultation was to highlight the needs of people with disabilities in Laois and propose responses to these needs through the Strategic Policy Committee structure of Laois County Council.

It is hoped that the outcome of the consultation will feed into the new Corporate Plan which will be developed by Laois County Council.

The report is due to be published on Tuesday, May 21 at 7:30pm in the Midlands Park Hotel, Portlaoise.
