The Leinster Express is one of the oldest and best known regional newspaper titles in the country.
Since its inception in 1831, it has earned and sustained a reputation as one of the premier regional newspapers, the archetypal paper of record which people turn to when they want the definitive account and interpretation of events.
It has served the community of Laois and surrounding areas faithfully and impartially at all times, recording and reflecting the issues, trends and concerns of its public.
It has never been content to rest on its laurels or reputation, but has moved with the times and adapted itself to the huge changes over the decades.
The Leinster Express of 2013 is an eclectic mix of news, sport, entertainment, lifestyle and many more components.
Complementing the print edition is our online edition at www.leinsterexpress.ie The website provides up to the minute updates on a daily basis of breaking news in Laois, and is a one stop shop for all things Laois.
Both the print and online editions of the Leinster Express are formidable vehicles for advertisers seeking to effectively promote their business and services, and in doing so reaching the widest possible audience.
We are also committed to our readers through our social media platforms, namely Facebook and Twitter. We are also in the process of developing a multi-media dimension bringing you video content but also the opportunity to engage as readers with the paper in new ways.
The most important element of a newspaper are its readers. The Leinster Express would not have lasted the test of time were in not for the loyalty of readership. This loyalty is built on the firm foundation of the Express being the people’s paper.
In as much as possible we try to cover as many events that are drawn to our attention.
We will continue to do what we do best by reporting on news and sports events as well as carrying a weekly digest of local information. We are also proud of our unrivalled photography coverage.
There is no doubt that these are tough times for all businesses. Local newspapers are no different in this regard. However, our continued success is based on responding to the market and remaining competitive as well as expanding and improving the product.
In the past year alone we have introduced new systems which have led to a new look Leinster with more content and have also launched a new website in the past month.
We do not say this by way of a compliment but rather to demonstrate that we will not stand still or be consigned to the past as some have mistakenly predicted.
We thank you once again for your continued support, and look forward to serving you for many years.
