Laois locals have much to consider this week, having been invited to suggest someone local to be the face of a new mural.
The Dunamaise Arts Centre, in partnership with The Walls Project and Creative Laois, is looking for someone to be immortalised in a large-scale mural in Portlaoise by internationally acclaimed street artist Zabou.
French born and London based artist Zabou is responsible for a wide array of gorgeous murals across the world, including a famous one of Cillian Murphy in New Ross.

"If you represent the resilience, creativity, diversity & community spirit of Laois, submit a photo and short paragraph about yourself. Your portrait could brighten Main Street and become a landmark for the town!" The Dunamaise Arts Centre shared.
Submissions are open to anyone living or working in Laois. For those under the age of 18, parent or guardian consent is required.
The Walls Project was established in Ireland by the creatives behind Waterford's famous murals. Their aim is to break down the barriers between art and communities, and to celebrate street art as a powerful tool in urban regeneration.
Do you think you deserve a spot on the wall? Do you know someone who does? Let us know your suggestions in the comments below!
