Rathdowney Gardaí checking vehicles over Easter Bank Holiday weekend
Uninsured drivers experienced an unwelcome crackdown by a Laois Garda Station over the Easter weekend, with several vehicles seized.
The Laois Offaly Garda Division has reported a busy weekend for their Rathdowney station officers, while reminding the public that driving without insurance will not go under their radar.
They shared these images of vehicles being checked out by the patrol over the weekend.

"Gardaí from Rathdowney Garda Station were actively carrying out road traffic checkpoints and patrols across the area over the Bank Holiday weekend.
"During the operation, a number of uninsured vehicles were detected and seized and removed from the road under road traffic legislation.

"Driving without insurance is a serious offence and poses a significant risk to all road users. These enforcement operations will continue as Gardaí work to keep our roads safe for everyone.
"Motorists are reminded to ensure that their insurance, tax and driving licence are all valid and in order before taking to the road," the Laois Offaly Garda Division says.
